Date with mother
After 21 years of marriage, my wife wanted me to take another woman out to dinner and a movie. She said, “I love you, but I know this other woman loves you and would love to spend some time with you.”
The other woman that my wife wanted me to visit was my mother, who had been a widow for 19 years, but the demands of my work and my 3 children had made it possible to visit her only occasionally.
That night I called to invite her to go out for dinner and a movie.
“What’s wrong, are you well?” she asked. My mother is the type of woman who suspects that a late night call or surprise invitation is a sign of bad news.
“I thought that it would be pleasant to spend some time with you,” I responded. “Just the two of us.”
She thought about it for a moment, and then said, “I would like that very much.”
That Friday after work, as I drove over to pick her up I was a bit nervous. When I arrived at her house, I noticed that she, too, seemed to be nervous about our date. She waited in the door with her coat on. She had curled her hair and was wearing the dress that she had worn to celebrate her last wedding anniversary. She smiled from a face that was as radiant as an Angel’s. “I told my friends that I was going to go out with my son, and they were impressed,” she said, as she got into the car. “They can’t wait to hear about our meeting.”
We went to a restaurant that, although not elegant, was very nice and cozy. My mother took my arm as if she were the First Lady. After we sat down, I had to read the menu. Her eyes could only read large print. Half way through the entries, I lifted my eyes and saw Mom sitting there staring at me. A nostalgic smile was on her lips. “It was I who used to have to read the menu when you were small,” she said. “Then it’s time that you relax and let me return the favor,” I responded.
During the dinner, we had an agreeable conversation — nothing extraordinary but catching up on recent events of each other’s life. We talked so much that we missed the movie. As we arrived at her house later, she said, “I’ll go out with you again, but only if you let me invite you.” I agreed.
“How was your dinner date?” Asked my wife when I got home.
“Very nice. Much more so than I could have imagined,” I answered.
A few days later, my mother died of a massive heart attack. It happened so suddenly that I didn’t have a chance to do anything for her. Some time later, I received an envelope with a copy of a restaurant receipt from the same place where mother and I had dined. An attached note said: “I paid this bill in advance. I wasn’t sure that I could be there; but nevertheless I paid for two plates — one for you and the other for your wife. You will never know what that night meant for me.”
“I love you, son.”
At that moment, I understood the importance of saying in time: “I love you,” and to give our loved ones the time that they deserve. Nothing in life is more important than your family. Give them the time they deserve, because these things cannot be put off till “some other time.”

India shining
Interesting info but how our eyes are closed with other things
While the JNU fracas and fiasco is being played out in the media for almost two weeks, this is what also happened
a) India struck a unique oil deal with UAE, which will land it 4 Million barrels of oil almost free after 5 years.
b) Indian Railways auctioned scrap for almost Rs.3000 crores through an online auction that is transperant and therefore scam free.
c) The MakeinIndia event in Maharashtra saw commitments of Rs.15.2 lakh crores. Even if we assume a 10% conversion of those commitments, there are possible investments of Rs.1.52 lakh crores.
d) First batch of 800 cars have been shipped from Chennai port to Kandla. Seaway movement of cargo within the country was not permitted under law. The present government changed that law. This would result in transportation costs dropping to almost 1/3rd from Rs. 1.50 per kg per km to Rs.0.50 per kg per km.
Good work is happening in the country. The government may not be working at a pace you desire, but it is working - away from the noise and hubris of the news channels !
Four Important News that media should have been specially covered this week, but were not at all mentioned by Press, hand in hand with Congress, as they are busy in terrorising people with news of intolerance, creating situations of suicide and such silly childish gimmicks misusing student community.
The FOUR IMPORTANT DEVELOPMENTS ARE:
1. World Bank has appreciated our Prime Minister Narendra Modi's favourite Project 'CLEAN INDIA' and announced support of 1.5 Billion Dollars for the project.
http://www.worldbank.org/en/news/press-release/2015/12/15/world-bank-approves-usd-1point5-billion-support-india-universal-sanitation-initiatives
2. The 'Nuclear Energy Agreement' between India & Japan has been applauded by 'IEA- Inventions for Energy Alternatives' supporting Solar Energy Exploration and announced that with this collaboration India will achieve a GREAT MILESTONE in the use of solar energy that will be exemplary to the whole world.

3. Within the next one year GOOGLE is going to provide Free Wifi Service in 100 Railway Stations and are going to train 20 Lakh Android Developers which means that 20 Lakh Youth will get the JOB OPPORTUNITY.
http://www.cnet.com/news/google-to-install-free-wi-fi-at-400-railway-stations-in-india/
4. Henceforth CBSC Books will be available online for FREE. Central Minister Smriti Irani has planned this special project.

When media and News Papers have lost their CONSCIOUS FOR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY, Indian citizens have to take this responsibility to reach this message to maximum VOTERS REGARDING THE PROSPECTS NAMO GOVERNMENT IS BRINGING FOR THEM.
Definitely, you will also carry out this responsibility as I have done by sharing this message with you.
We have responsibility towards Future Of India.
Money and family
In 1923, nine of the wealthiest people in the world met at Chicago's Edge Water Beach Hotel.
Their combined wealth, it is estimated, exceeded the wealth of the Government of the United States at that time. These men certainly knew how to make a living and accumulate wealth. Attending the meeting were the following men:
1. The president of the largest steel company,
2. The president of the largest utility company,
3. The president of the largest gas company,
4. The president of the New York Stock Exchange,
5. The president of the Bank of International Settlements,
6. The greatest wheat speculator,
7. The greatest bear on Wall Street,
8. The head of the World's greatest monopoly &
9. A member of President Harding's cabinet.
That's a pretty impressive line-up of people by anyone's yardstick.
Yet, 25 years later, where were those nine industrial giants?
Let’s examine what happened to them 25 years later.
1. The President of the then largest steel company (Bethlehem Steel Corp), Charles M Schwab, lived on borrowed capital for five years before he died bankrupt.
2. The President of the then largest gas company, Howard Hubson, went insane.
3. One of the greatest commodity traders (Wheat Speculator), Arthur Cutten, died insolvent.
4. The then President of the New York Stock Exchange, Richard Whitney, was sent to jail.
5. The member of the US President’s Cabinet (the member of President Harding's cabinet), Albert Fall, was pardoned from jail just to be able to go home and die in peace.
6. The greatest “bear” on Wall Street, Jesse Livermore committed suicide.
7. The President of the then world’s greatest monopoly, Ivar Krueger, committed suicide.
8. The President of the Bank of International Settlement, Leon Fraser, committed Suicide.
9. The president of the largest utility company, Samuel Insull, died penniless.
What they forgot was how to "make" life while they got busy making money!
Money in itself is not evil; it provides food for the hungry, medicine for the sick, clothes for the needy. Money is only a medium of exchange.
We need two kinds of education:
a) One that teaches us how to make a living,
and
b) One that teaches us how to live.
There are many of us who are so engrossed in our professional life that we neglect our family, health and social responsibilities.
If asked why we do this, we would reply that "We are doing it for our family".
Yet, our kids are sleeping when we leave home. They are sleeping when we come back home!! Twenty years later, we’ll turn back, and they’ll all be gone, to pursue their own dreams and their own lives.
Without water, a ship cannot move. The ship needs water, but if the water gets into the ship, the ship will face existential problems. What was once a means of living for the ship will now become a means of destruction.
Similarly we live in a time where earning is a necessity but let not the earning enter our hearts, for what was once a means of living will surely become a means of destruction for us as well.
So take a moment and ask yourself, "Has the water entered my ship?"
I hope not!
Hope the above story will drive all of us in a better direction.
''Alone I can 'Say' but
together we can 'talk'.
'Alone I can 'Enjoy' but
together we can
'Celebrate'.
'Alone I can 'Smile' but
together we can 'Laugh'.
That's the BEAUTY of
Human Relations.
We are nothing without
each other

Lunch with GOD
LUNCH WITH GOD!
(Must read this & fwd)
A little boy wanted to meet God! He packed his suitcase with two sets of his dress and some packets of cakes! He started his journey, he walked a long distance and found a park! He was feeling tired, so, he decided to sit in the park and take some refreshment! He opened a packet of cake to eat!
He noticed an old woman sitting nearby, sad with hunger, so he offered her a piece of cake!
She gratefully accepted it with a wide look and smiled at him! Her smile was so pretty that the boy longed to see it again! After sometime he offered her another piece of cake! Again, she accepted it and smiled at him! The boy was delighted!
They sat there all afternoon eating and smiling, but never said a word! While it grew dark, the boy was frightened and he got up to leave but before he had gone more than a few steps, he ran back and gave the woman a hug and she kissed him with her prettiest smile!
Back home, when the boy knocked the door, his mother was surprised by the look of joy on his face!
She asked him, "What did you do today that makes you look so happy?"
He replied, "I had lunch with God!"
Before his mother could respond, he added, "You know what? She's got the most beautiful smile I've ever seen in my life!"
Meanwhile, the old woman, also radiant with joy, returned to her home! Her son was stunned by the look of peace on her face and asked, "Mom, what did you do today that made you so happy?"
She replied, "I ate cakes in the park with God!"
Before her son responded, she added, "You know, he's much younger than I expected!"
Too often we underestimate the power of;
a touch,
a smile,
a kind word,
a listening ear,
an honest compliment,
Or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around!
Remember, nobody knows what God looks like! People come into our lives for a reason, for a season or for a lifetime!
Accept all of them equally...
LET THEM SEE GOD IN YOU!

Nature of GOD
In the Bible, Malachi 3:3 says:
'He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.'
This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character
and nature of God.
One of the women offered to find out the process of refining
silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study.
That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an
appointment to watch him at work.
She didn't mention
anything about the reason for her interest beyond her
curiosity about the process of refining Silver.
As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the
impurities.
The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: 'He
sits as a refiner and purifier of silver'.
She asked the
silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of
the fire the whole time the silver was being refined?
The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there
holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed.
The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the
silversmith, 'How do you know when the silver is fully
refined?'
He smiled at her and answered,'Oh, that's easy --"when I see
my image in it!'
If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has His eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you!
Moral:-
This very moment,
know that God is watching over you. And, whatever you are going through, you'll be a better
person in the end because HE will not leave you in the
situation for too long to be destroyed by the fires of this world.
Innate Power
Innate Power...
The eye, which is scarcely two inches long,
can see millions of miles into space,
but it is incapable of seeing itself!!
Man, too, it is shrewd and as weak as the eye..
He can analyse others' motives,
count others' faults,
map out other's skills and capacities,
but he is powerless to analyse himself,
his feelings or emotions...
He is unwilling to discover his own faults;
he cannot assess his innate skills
and realise his inner reality!!
This power can be acquired
if he keeps company with sadhakas (aspirants for spiritual progress),
but not otherwise...

What is personality
Someone asked Sri Ravi Shankar How to develop our personality ?
Sri Ravi Shankar:
To develop your personality, you have to spend five days to have these five experiences to really blossom in your life.
You can develop your personality with these five experiences.
You have to sincerely play these five roles:
1. The first role which I would recommend to you is to be a School Teacher.
To teach lessons to children who are not learning, you need a lot of patience.
Being a nursery or primary school teacher, even for one day, you will see how you have to increase your patience.
2. Be a Gardener or spend a day with a Farmer.
If you are sowing the seeds,
if you are watering the plants,
you will know how you must care for water, earth and the environment.
You will have a feeling for the environment.
You will value food and you will not waste food.
You know, what we do?
We bring so much food, and we put it in the fridge and, after a few days in the refrigerator, we throw the food.
We are wasting millions and millions of tons of food every day.
We should not waste food.
This we will learn if we spend one day being a farmer or a gardener.
3. You should spend a day in the mental hospital.
Whatever people talk in the mental hospital, you don’t mind.
If they scold you,
if they blame you,
if they curse you,
will you mind?
You don’t mind because you are aware that this person is mentally sick.
You know that many people are outside the hospital, but that does not mean they are mentally well.
So, in life, you come across people who blame you for nothing, who are jealous or angry, who say things that make no sense. Then, you know, you will have the patience to deal with them with a smile. You will not take the garbage inside and spoil your mind.
So one day if you spend in a mental hospital, you will know how to save your mind.
You will stop being a football of others’ opinions.
4. One day you must go to a prison. Maybe it is shocking to you.
You don’t have to do a wrong thing to go to a prison.
Just go visit a prison, spend a little time with the prisoners.
You will understand what compassion is.
What helplessness is.
Those people did a mistake without awareness.
So you will know how you must have a say on your emotions.
5. There are terminally ill people in the hospital.
One day with them, and you will realize how precious life is.
And you will start valuing health.
You will eat better,
you will exercise.
You will do all that is needed to be more vibrant in your life.
With these five days what would be the outcome?
I guess from these five days you will become
More Vibrant,
More Alive,
More Loving,
Compassionate
and Active.☕😊〽

Bank robbery and funny perspective
During a robbery, the bank robber shouted to everyone in the bank: “Don’t move. The money belongs to the State. Your life belongs to you.” Everyone in the bank laid down quietly. This is called “Mind Changing Concept” Changing the conventional way of thinking. When a lady lay on the table provocatively, the robber shouted at her: “Please be civilized! This is a robbery and not a rape!” This is called “Being Professional” Focus only on what you are trained to do! When the bank robbers returned home, the younger robber (MBA-trained) told the older robber (who has only completed Year 6 in primary school): “Big brother, let’s count how much we got.” The older robber rebutted and said: “You are very stupid. There is so much money it will take us a long time to count. Tonight, the TV news will tell us how much we robbed from the bank!” This is called “Experience.” Nowadays, experience is more important than paper qualifications! After the robbers had left, the bank manager told the bank supervisor to call the police quickly. But the supervisor said to him: “Wait! Let us take out $10 million from the bank for ourselves and add it to the $70 million that we have previously embezzled from the bank”. This is called “Swim with the tide.” Converting an unfavorable situation to your advantage!
The supervisor says: “It will be good if there is a robbery every month.” This is called “Killing Boredom.” Personal Happiness is more important than your job. The next day, the TV news reported that $100 million was taken from the bank. The robbers counted and counted and counted, but they could only count $20 million. The robbers were very angry and complained: “We risked our lives and only took $20 million. The bank manager took $80 million with a snap of his fingers. It looks like it is better to be educated than to be a thief!” This is called “Knowledge is worth as much as gold!”
The bank manager was smiling and happy because his losses in the share market are now covered by this robbery. This is called “Seizing the opportunity.” Daring to take risks! So who are the real robbers here?

The Ant is fined for failing to comply with POTAGA and having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, it's home is confiscated by Government
and handed over to the Grasshopper in a ceremony covered by NDTV, BBC, CNN.
Arundhati Roy calls it 'A Triumph of Justice'.
Railway minister calls it 'Socialistic Justice'.
CPM calls it 'Revolutionary Resurgence of Downtrodden'
.
.
.
.
Many years later...
The Ant has since migrated to the US and set up a multi-billion dollar company in Silicon Valley ,
100s of Grasshoppers still die of starvation despite reservation somewhere in India ,
....AND
As a result of losing lot of hard working Ants and feeding the grasshoppers, India is still a developing country...!!
P.S.: I have no idea whose creative mind this has come out from, but this piece is awesome.
Motivating story in telugu
...

India
What a day ....68 yrs back both India and Pakistan got independence
(Got this on independence day)
Indians have become CEOs of Google, Microsoft, Pepsico, Jaguar, Land Rover and
Pakistani have become heads of Taliban, Al-Qaeda, Jammat U Dawa, Hijbul Mujahideen.
What a contrast......😊
Speech by Thomas Friedman in the New York Times.....
"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were told to eat our vegetables at dinner and not leave them. Mothers said, think of the starving children in India and finish the dinner.'
And now I tell my children : 'Finish your homework. Think of the children in India, who would become CEOs and make you starve, if you don't."
---How times change!
Meditation
Worth reading..... On meditation
Once there was a farmer who discovered that he had lost his watch in the farm. It was not an ordinary watch because it had sentimental value for him.
After searching the hay for a long while, he gave up and call the help of a group of children playing outside the barn.
He promised them that, the person who found it, would be rewarded.
Hearing this, the children hurried inside the barn, went through and around the hay but still could not find the
watch.
Just when the farmer was about to give up looking for his watch, a little boy went up to him and asked to be given another chance.
The farmer looked at him and thought, “Why not.? After all, this kid looks sincere enough.”
So the farmer sent the little boy back in the barn. After a while the little boy came out with the watch in his hand.
The farmer was happy and surprised and so he asked the boy how he succeeded where the rest had failed.
The boy replied, “I did nothing but sit on the ground and listen. In the silence, I heard the ticking of the watch and just looked for it in that direction.”
MESSAGE : A Peaceful mind can think better than a Worked up mind. Allow a few minutes of Silence to your mind every day, and see, how sharply it helps u to set your life the way you expect it to be.
MORAL : The soul always knows what to do to heal itself... The challenge is to silence the mind…
